A few examples of how I approach hard product & organizational problems.

I am also happy to share more details the old fashioned way—talking about it. Please reach out.

Rapid growth—and agents—prompted new infrastructure needs

Gecko’s Manufacturing business grew quickly, with multiple robotic inspection systems being built from 0-to-1 at the same time. I was the solo designer across three deployments and used that cross-project view to identify repeated workflow patterns, codify them in a design system, and collaborate with engineers on documentation to guide our agentic coding tools.

I didn’t build it for visual consistency, but to help teams reuse what we were learning across very different inspection contexts: robotic crawlers, ultrasonic inspection, photogrammetry, and 6-axis arm workflows.

3D data analysis tools for ultrasonic inspections

Gecko’s inspection systems automate traditionally manual processes. This creates huge amounts of data in 3D space, which is completely novel for experts in NDT (non-destructive testing). Matching our data to their mental model is a unique challenge.

I developed an interaction model that enables inspectors to use familiar 2D ultrasonic visualizations to navigate a complex 3D scene and massive data set.

Upskilling a wide variety of engineers, managers, and SMEs

I’ve run working sessions and created training material to help our whole team get better at learning from users in the field.

I focus the training on practical advice and the right mindset for our cross-functional teams—robotics engineers, software engineers, manufacturing SMEs, and customer leads—all of whom interact with our users.

And yes, I use movie clips as references for both good and bad ways to involve users in your product work.
