About Me

I’m a dad, husband, designer, and coach living in Pittsburgh, PA, USA.

Currently, I’m a principal product designer at Gecko Robotics where I have been leading product and design across several robotic data collection systems and customer deployments. Currently I’m focused in the defense and manufacturing industries. This work spans Gecko’s inspection systems using robotic crawlers and 6-axis arms with ultrasonic and visual payloads. In addition, we’re building downstream workflows on Gecko’s cloud platform with novel data analysis tools to aid manufacturing optimization.

Prior to Gecko, I was a Product Design Director at BCG X where I led teams designing new products and experiences with some of the biggest organizations in the world, like Microsoft, CVS, and the US Navy. My work went across domains such as industrial goods, consumer products and ecommerce, heath care, and defense.

As a senior leader at BCG X, I helped define our go-to-market offerings, sell and scope large scale projects, and ensure successful delivery of those projects-so that they benefited users, client organizations, and our ongoing relationships with those clients.

Prior to BCG X, I was Director of Visual Design at MAYA Design, which was acquired by BCG in 2017. At MAYA Design I led the design group capabilities: UX, advanced prototyping, visual design, animation, and video.

A lifetime ago, I worked at Actual Size, a small but mighty Pittsburgh design firm, where I led digital design and development as the firm evolved beyond a traditional print design focus. This meant a lot of poorly coded websites, and lots of terrible (but actually awesome) Flash creations: games, sites, kiosks, banners, and even some nascent interactive installations with motion tracking technology.
